Good to Be Here

Let's see, a little about myself: My name's Chrissy Wissler and I'm a fiction writer - primarily fantasy with a dab of romance. I used to write nonfiction articles for several magazines, such as Montana Outdoors and Inside Kung Fu, but now focus all my writing effort on my novels.

I'm in this for the long-haul and decided to take my career into my own hands. I'm 3/4 of the way through writing a redraft of my first novel and plan on having it in the mail to publishers by spring.

The writing is great, I'm hitting my daily word count, and I feel more alive than ever even though I'm waking up at 4:30, five days a week before heading off to the day job.

How great to see you here, my friend. I didn't put two and two together when I saw your registration come through. I blame the snow.

I don't know how you get up so early, but I admireyour dedidcation. I can't wait until you're ready to start submitting. Is it wrong for me to be almost as excited as you?

Thanks for putting this forum together.

My name is Gloria Oren, and IO write mainly nonfiction. I just sent my manuscript of my memoir to my editor. I too get up early (the alarm rings at 4:30 am but I usually get up between then and 5:00 am. I put in 1-2 hrs of writing or writing related tasks before leaving for my day job.

I joined Toastmasters recently and love it. Still have to get to giving my first speech. That will be a hard one as I can't decide on which me to tell about--me the reunited adoptee, the writer, or the private me.

I also write book reviews which I post on my blog.

Hope to meet lots of other great people here.

Wonderful to have you with us, Gloria. I'm so glad you chimed in. Congrats on sending your memoir off. I wish you much success with it. Toastmasters is great. When do you have to give that first speech?
